Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah picks up GQ’s Middle East Man of the Year award
This award wasn’t given to Salah just for his performances on the pitch, but also his contributions to society off of it.
Salah is an icon and a hero for the people of Egypt, but he’s also shown great generosity to causes in his home nation.
For example, the winger donated £2.5m to the National Cancer Institute in Cairo after a suspected terrorist incident killed 20 people.
Those types of gestures, combined with his incredible success in his chosen field, make Salah a worthy winner of this award.
