Chad Bowes scored the fastest List A double-century on Wednesday for Canterbury against Otago in the Ford Trophy. Bowes brought up the milestone in 103 balls, before eventually falling for 205 off 110 deliveries.The record was previously held by Australia’s Travis Head and India’s N Jagadeesan, who both took 114 deliveries each to get to their respective double-centuries. Head achieved the feat for South Australia against Queensland in the 2021-22 Marsh Cup, while Tamil Nadu’s Jagadeesan did it during his record-breaking 277 against Arunachal Pradesh in the 2022 Vijay Hazare Trophy.Playing his 100th List A match, Bowes hit 27 fours and seven sixes as he helped Canterbury post 343 for 9 after they were put in to bat at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch.”It might sink in over the next day or two, but obviously a great day here at Hagley and a good occasion to do something special,” Bowes said after his innings. “These things happen naturally, organically. Whilst there’s still work to do in the transfer market, the arrivals of Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko should hand the Red Devils more than enough firepower to battle their way back into the top six this season. And that could start in statement fashion against Arsenal.

If Amorim wants to see exactly where his side are at in the early days of the season, then Arsenal’s visit will certainly be welcomed. The Portuguese manager may waste no time before turning towards his fresh forwards either, having told reporters that Sesko is “ready”, despite only arriving one week ago.

On the transfer front, however, Manchester United seem far from done. After failing to negotiate a way past Brighton & Hove Albion’s £100m price tag for Carlos Baleba, those at Old Trafford could yet turn towards the likes of Angelo Stiller or others, whilst a Champions League winner is now also on their radar.

Apesar de Rocha ser jogador de confiança de Abel, não é possível garantir que ele irá voltar imediatamente para a sua posição no 11 inicial. Dependendo da formação escolhida, pode ser até que os dois joguem juntos, como ocorreu no Brasileirão de 2022.

It was a huge win for Everton, especially after the defeat at Leeds United to begin their 2025/26 season, and it’s now a case of them completing more transfer business before the window closes next Monday, with David Moyes proving he can get the best out of limited squad depth during his tenure so far.

The 19-year-old Saints ace is a player with so much ability, invariably taking a right-sided role and cutting onto his left foot, with Southampton’s academy manager Andy Goldie heaping praise on him.

While Grealish is another exciting addition, he turns 30 next month and doesn’t represent the long-term future, whereas Dibling falls into that bracket perfectly.

The teenage attacker can mature into a wonderful player over time, should Moyes get the best out of him, and it looks like a case of when the deal is announced now, rather than if.
