أكد يورجن كلوب المدير الفني الألماني لـ ليفربول، أن فريقه كان الأفضل في مواجهة ليستر سيتي، رغم الخسارة بثلاثية مقابل هدف.

ليفربول كان متقدمًا بهدف محمد صلاح، قبل أن يحوّل ليستر سيتي تأخره لفوز بثلاثية في 7 دقائق.

وقال يورجن كلوب في تصريحات لشبكة “BTSports” البريطانية: “كانت المباراة في أيدينا، كنا الفريق الأفضل طوال اللقاء”.

وأضاف: “لم تكن لهم أي فرصة طوال الشوط الأول، وفي الشوط الثاني سجلنا هدفًا وكان يجب أن نسجل الهدف الثاني، ولكن للأسف لم يحدث ذلك”.

وأكمل: “سددنا أكثر من كرة، القائم منعنا من التسجيل قبل الهدف، كذلك كاسبر شمايكل الذي تألق أمام فيرمينو في الشوط الأول”.

وأشار: “لقد تغيّرت العديد من الأشياء بعد الهدف، الحكم يحتسب ركلة جزاء، ثم ركلة حرة، ويلغي الهدف، ثم يؤكد أنه ليس تسلل، كان لكل هذا تأثيرًا على اللاعبين”.

وواصل: “بالنسبة لي الهدف الأول تسلل، الفرق هو أننا نعتقد أنه شيء موضوعي وطبيعي، لكنه ليس كذلك، الهدف تسلل واضح لأن مهاجم ليستر شارك في الكرة”.

واختتم: “ثلاثة لاعبين في ليستر سيتي كانوا في موقف تسلل، ولكن للأسف الجميع سيتحدث عن أشياء أخرى”.

وجه مدرب فريق ليفربول يورجن كلوب، رسالة إلى لاعبيه قبل مواجهة لايبزيج بعد قليل، في بطولة دوري أبطال أوروبا.

ويلتقي الفريقان في إطار منافسات ذهاب دور الـ16 من البطولة، في ملعب بوشكاش آرينا بدلًا من ألمانيا (لمتابعة أحداث المباراة بالفيديو من هنا).

وقال كلوب في تصريحات نشرتها شبكة “بي تي سبورتس” العالمية: “رسالتي للاعبين؟ إنه دوري أبطال أوروبا، دعونا نتعامل معه بشكل صحيح، نحن هنا، نحن جاهزون”.

وأضاف: “كل شيء مختلف، مستعدون ولدينا فريق جيد حقًا، دعونا نجربها”.

وواصل: “مشاركة كاباك كأساسي؟ لعب مباراة جيدة في عطلة نهاية الأسبوع (أمام ليستر سيتي)، هو شاب، لائق بدنيًا ومليئًا بالطاقة، دعوه يلعب مرة أخرى”.

واستكمل: “لست متأكدًا من أن طريقة لعب لايبزيج واضحة حتى الآن، لكن يتعين علينا التكيف معهم في المباراة، واللعب بطريقتنا، هم فريق مليء بالطاقة، يعملون من أجلها وعلينا أيضًا فعل ذلك”.

وتابع: “علينا صناعة الفرص في اللحظات المناسبة، والتعامل مع ضغطهم بلعب كرة القدم”.

Rangers are looking at Lanus full-back Leonel Di Placido as a potential January replacement for James Tavernier, according to The Scottish Sun.

What’s the story?

With as many as ten clubs looking at Tavernier, per Football Insider, Steven Gerrard has begun to put a contingency plan in place in case the 27 year-old does eventually depart.

Gerrard will face competition from Premier League side Crystal Palace should he need to go in for the 25-year-old Argentine, per the report.

The Argentine right-back has been included in a couple of his national side’s squads of late, for games against Guatemala and Colombia, yet never got onto the pitch.

This is part of the reason he’s viewing a move to Europe, with the report stating his desire to make his international debut.

At £1m, or even a potential loan deal, Rangers would be in line to make a substantial profit if he were to be brought in as a Tavernier replacement.

The wrong time to sell

Tavernier has proven he’s a unique talent and is virtually irreplaceable as a result. His attacking output from right-back is incredible – in his 57 games last season he scored an incredible 17 goals and set up a staggering 20 more.

That’s unheralded for a full-back and, more importantly, makes him pivotal to the Gers’ chances of success, as you can’t easily replace 37 goal contributions.

And it’s not just his attacking prowess that makes him such a key part of the Ibrox club. His leadership skills have meant he has remained captain of a dressing room filled with experienced players and big personalities.

If he were to leave and be replaced in January, the timing would be atrocious. Moving on such an integral figure could derail momentum, momentum that will be crucial as the Gers boss looks to win his first silverware in management.

If the Light Blues must move Tavernier on, then next summer would be a slightly better time to do it (there’s no ‘good’ time to lose a player of his skill).

At least that way Di Placido could come in and learn the ropes with the support of both the skipper and Jon Flanagan, and would potentially be ready to take over the helm permanently from the 2020/21 season.

Losing Tavernier half-way through the campaign though, and replacing him with someone who has never played in Europe, would be a monumental risk with potentially season-defining implications.

Celtic have had an attempt to offload Olivier Ntcham to Bordeaux turned down, with the Celts hoping to get rid of their midfielder in this transfer window, according to 20 Minutes.

What’s the story?

The Frenchman has made no secret of his desire to leave Parkhead this summer, but things had been beginning to look up for Ntcham in Glasgow. The central midfielder started the league win over Motherwell and the crushing defeat to Cluj, and it now looks as if the club are actively trying to end his time at Celtic Park.

Per the report, the Ligue 1 side turned down Celtic’s approach as they’re looking for a more experienced player than the 23-year-old.

Ntcham’s time in Scotland has been tumultuous, starting well after signing from Manchester City, but playing poorly last season after a move to Porto failed to materialise.

The 23-year-old has a Hoops contract until 2022, so it’s somewhat surprising to see the reported figure involved in a potential deal with Bordeaux is a measly €4m (£3.7m).

Celtic simply must hold on

While you can understand why Neil Lennon and the Celtic board may want rid of the wantaway ace, holding off selling him until next summer may be a better plan of action. Ntcham could yet have a big part to play in the club’s fortunes this campaign, so keeping him for the next 12 months would make sense.

We’ve seen Scott Brown look a shell of his former self a few times already this season, so the 23-year-old could take his place in the side more often than he did in the last campaign. Similarly, he could be in for some more game time as a number ten, with Tom Rogic perpetually injured and Ryan Christie only just getting used to his role as a key player in the side.

If Ntcham were to get a run in the side then there’s no reason why he can’t rediscover his form from his debut season in the Premiership. If this were to happen then you can bet the club will get more than the paltry €4m they want for him next summer.

Keeping the Frenchman is a win-win. Ntcham will have better clubs shopping for his services after another good season, Neil Lennon will get a versatile player who can help cover both the central midfield and number ten positions, and the club will surely be able to scoop up more than the meagre sum currently being reported.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is fearful that Liverpool and Manchester City will be too difficult to catch in the Premier League this season.

The new campaign is just three games old, and whilst Liverpool have gathered nine points from their three fixtures thus far, City have seven points.

Spurs, meanwhile, have collected four points – missing the chance to move level with City after losing at home to Newcastle United on Sunday afternoon.

Kane has insisted that there is ‘a long way to go’.

Although the England captain is seemingly not too confident when it comes to his team’s chances of winning the title this season.

And it would be fair to say that a number of Spurs supporters are in agreement with the striker, who has two goals in three Premier League appearances this term.

One thing is for sure, it will be a lot harder for Mauricio Pochettino’s side if they fail to pick up a positive result against Arsenal this weekend.

Now is the time for Tottenham Hotspur to unleash Troy Parrott.

The 17-year-old has yet to make his first-team debut for the club but now, one feels, is the time for Mauricio Pochettino to bring him into the fold.

Spurs face Arsenal in the north London derby this weekend and this is not to suggest that Parrott should be starting against Unai Emery’s men in one of the biggest games of the club’s season.

But the Irish striker, an ace at youth level, is needed on the bench.

Spurs allowed Fernando Llorente to leave the club upon the expiration of his contract and that has left Harry Kane as the club’s only senior striker.

For the first three games of the campaign, Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has not named an out-and-out striker on the bench thus far in 2019/20.

Parrott has scored 15 goals in 13 outings for the Under-18s, along with four in 13 for the Under-23s. He began this season with the latter and netted twice against Manchester City in a 3-1 win in Premier League 2 earlier this month.

Without Llorente, and with Kane needing support, there can be no better opportunity to bring the teenager into the fold.

It would send an extremely positive message, that the talent within the Under-23s is there to be utilised and that, if you’re good enough, you’re old enough.

Of course, Pochettino has been here before; the likes of Harry Winks, Oliver Skipp and Juan Foyth have all thrived under his tutelage after being introduced to the team at a young age.

Bringing Parrott through next may seem like jumping the gun – he is still a teenager and has yet to play a single minute of senior football – but sources have confirmed to Football FanCast that hopes are high that the youngster can develop into a genuine first-team player in north London.

With Llorente out and Kane needing some genuine support, Parrott’s time has surely come.

He could be the next beneficiary of Spurs’ commitment to youth.
